兩個傳奇,一個盛會

Mike Stern 曾六次獲格林美獎提名,四十年的職業生涯中憑著非凡音樂造詣與高超的電吉他獨奏技巧深深吸引著樂迷,是最受尊敬的一代電吉他手之一,對爵士樂類型的更新作出了重大貢獻。1993贏得 Guitar Player 雜誌的Best Jazz Guitarist of the Year獎項。2007年在International de Jazz de Montréal音樂節,Stern獲頒Miles Davis Award,表揚其對爵士圈的貢獻。2009年2月,Stern被爵士權威DownBeat 雜誌在慶祝75週年的系列文章中列為75個偉大吉他手之一。2012年1月21日獲頒Guitar Player 雜誌Certified Legend Award。

Dave Weckl (Drumset)

  • For more than 35 years, Dave Weckl has developed and maintained a reputation amongfans, peers, and the international music community, as one of the great living drummers. His contributions to iconic music, music education, and the gear that drummers use, are many. Modern Drummer magazine has inducted Weckl into their Hall of Fame (2000) and named him "one of the 25 best drummers of all time." These honors, in addition to many more bestowed by the music community, are the product of Weckl's commitment to excellence. His dynamic and diverse drumming, which has inspired musicians worldwide, is built on a foundation of knowledge and passion.

  • In 1985, Michael Brecker recommended Weckl to Chick Corea for his new Elektric Band. That was the beginning of a seven-year relationship with both the Elektric and Akoustic bands where nine recordings and three videos were produced. The Akoustic Band release earned Weckl a Grammy.

  • The Elektric Band showcased Weckl's cutting-edge drumming and innovative use of electronic and acoustic drums, bringing him worldwide recognition. Though the Elektric Band went on a 10-year hiatus in the early '90s, the band still tours from time-to-time. They released a 17-part conceptual album entitled To The Stars in mid-2004, and have reunited for tours in 2011 and 2016/17.

Mike Stern (Guitar) 

  • To a generation of contemporary jazz guitar aficionados, Mike Stern is regarded as one of the true guitar greats of his generation.

  • He is a player of remarkable facility whose searing lines are informed mainly by bebop and the blues while also carrying a rock-tinged intensity, Stern made his mark with Miles Davis in the early ‘80s before launching his solo career in 1985. Since then he has released 17 recordings as a leader, six of which were nominated for GRAMMY® Awards.

  • His latest, Trip, is his first since recovering from a serious accident in the summer o 2016 that left him with two broken arms and nerve damage in his right hand that.prevented him from even holding a pick. But Stern is back on top of his game, playing with typical authority and prodigious chops on this all-star outing, which features such longstanding colleagues as trumpeters Randy Brecker and Wallace Roney, saxophonists Bob Franceschini and Bill Evans (a bandmate of Mike’s in Miles Davis’ ‘comeback band’ of 1981), bassists Victor Wooten and Tom Kennedy and drummers Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers and Lenny White.

Tom Kennedy (Bass) 

  • Tom Kennedy is an accomplished touring and studio musician who ranks as one of the top acoustic and electric bass players in the world. His credits include performances and recordings with both mainstream legends and leading contemporary players.

  • In 1998, Tom became an integral part of Modern Drummer hall of famer Dave Weckl’s band, a group he toured, composed and recorded with for over nine years. Tom and Dave have continued to perform and record together on various projects for other artists, including Mike Stern, Didier Lockwood, Dave Grusin and Lee Ritenour.

  • Tom has performed and recorded with top contemporary players Simon Phillips, Steve Gadd, Frank Gambale, Steve Lukather, David Sanborn, Jeff Lorber, Ricky Lawson, Joe Sample and fusion band Planet X.

  • Tom has released five solo CDs: Basses Loaded in 1996, Bassics in 2004 featuring Mundell Lowe and Joe LaBarbera, Just for the Record in 2011, featuring Dave Weckl and Mike Stern, and Just Play! in 2013 featuring Lee Ritenour, Renee Rosnes and George Garzone. His most recent solo project, Points of View, released in 2017.

  • LA Weekly writes that Tom’s playing is “nothing short of inspiring.” His reputation as a master of his craft is evident among fans worldwide.

Ye Huang (Saxophone) 

  • Ye started his career as a musician at very young age. In July 2012, he had his first performance with the Australian and Hong Kong professional musicians in the Poly Theater in Shenzhen. Successfully performed "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Jazz Night". On December 2013, His first classical solo concert happened in Paul Hall in Juilliard.  On January 10, 2015, Ye performed the "Ye Huang's Suite,” seven movements of his work at the Juilliard Morse Hall, and recorded in the Juilliard School of Music. In the summer of 2013, 2014 and 2015, he organized solo jazz tours, especially in 2015 he with several elite American Jazz musician Bryan Carter, Emmet Cohen Alex Claffy. They formed the "New York Youngster Jazz Quartet,” had a tour of all over China in summer. On May 2016 he was invited by his teacher Eddie Daniels to tour as the guest clarinetist. 

  • He often played with different bands and many places in New York, such as in Dizzy’s club, Jazz Standard, Blue Notes, Metropolitan museum and many; In 2013, he participated in high school production of the musical "Grease,” had eight consecutive performances as the lead reed player. He also played the clarinet recording of the musical “The Winter of April” in New York City in 2014 and had several performances at Tabula Rasa NYC Theater. 

  • Ye Huang was invited by the famous trumpeter Arturo Sandoval in April 2017 for 10 cities China tour. And he continued to perform in Blue Notes in New York and Boston with Arturo. In June 2017, Ye served as guest performer and interpreter for the Jazz and Lincoln Center & Wynton Marsalis Eurasia tour in China. Ye Huang said he was born for music. His potential is not only to transcend classic, jazz, and other musical styles but to dedicate himself to music and creation.
