HKDrumFest Present - A Fest of Visual and Audio:

The Electric Nomads delivers tradition-defying electric jazz that is wired for funk. For all the legendary members, they got a total 7 GRAMMYs and numerous various awards. This all star band continually tour the world and with a live album that topped several international jazz charts, they have become one of the most popular live band in jazz and funk.
 

The Director and Producer are long time partners on multimedia production since 2011 "Tree Rhapsody" in Hong Kong Arts Festival. The concerts of HKDrumFest has been the splendid combination of music and visual with no exception since the 1st launch in 2016. This Year they work with Adrian (楊振業) to present audience a fest. Adrian is a video and stage media designer. He also designed and programmed the Hong Kong New Year's Eve Countdown Lights show 2013-2016. His works included 陳永泉's《八百比丘尼》、陳炳釗's《如果在末日,一個旅人》、梅卓燕's Dance theatre《客途》.

Dennis Chambers

Drummer

  • Began drumming at the age of 4 years old, and was gigging in Baltimore-area nightclubs by the age of 6. Funk and fusion drummer of Parliament-Funkadelic fame (at 18 years old)1978 -1985.

  • In the early 1990s he joined the John Scofield band. Since then he has played with most of the major figures in jazz fusion music.

  • Inducted into the Hall of Fame; One of the 100 Greatest Drummers of All Time

  • Featured as one of the legendary drummer on David Letterman’s "Late Show" Drum Solo Week in 2011

  • Recorded and performed with some of the greatest names in jazz, funk, and fusion music, including John Scofield, George Duke, Brecker Brothers, John McLaughlin, Mike Stern, Carlos Santana, Parliament-Funkadelic, and many others

Chris Minh Doky

Bassist

  • Granted knighthood in the Order of the Dannebrog by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark in 2010 for his contributions to the arts

  • Winner of the 2008 Ben Webster Prize

  • Played in the Michael Brecker Quartet and the Mike Stern Band, and has been the Artistic Director of Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s jazz band the DR Big Band

  • Played with renowned jazz musicians including Michael Brecker, David Sanborn, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Mike Stern, Michele Camilo, Trilok Gurtu, Bireli Lagrene, John Scofield, and Kenny Garret.

Dean Brown

Guitarist

  • Worked on more than 200 recordings, with numerous Grammy nominations and 4 Grammy Awards

  • Played with legendary artists including Marcus Miller, The Brecker Brothers, Billy Cobham, David Sanborn, Bob James, George Duke, Roberta Flack, Bill Evans, Randy Brecker, Victor Bailey, Joe Zawinul, Simon Phillips, etc

  • Prominently featured in Guitar Player Magazine, Guitar World, Jazz Life, Gittare & Bass, Big Box, Muzikus, and Guitarist Magazine along with other well known online publications

  • His performances have also included television appearances on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno

George Whitty

Keyboardist

  • Won an Emmy award in 2014 for his composition for the TV series "All My Children", Emmy Awards nominations for his composition on TV shows "One Life to Live" and "As the World Turns", and 3 Grammy Awards for his work with Chaka Khan and the Brecker Brothers

  • Played and recorded with such artists as Dave Matthews and Carlos Santana, Celine Dion, Michael and Randy Brecker, Chaka Khan, Richard Bona and other well-known artists on over 100 albums
